Tracking ChangelogHow Funnels Work
2 types of links:
Redirect Links:
Redirect URLs pass through a by-pass domain before the user is directed to the Landing Page.
Passing through the domain will generate a unique clickid to track traffic and visits to the Landing Page.
Redirect links track using only the Click and Purchase Events in the LP set up flow.
Redirect-less Links:
Redirect-less links do not pass through another domain and users are directed straight to the Landing Page.
Redirect-less links use v2 pixels which enables Brands to add additional tracking events that allow for more detailed and frequent tracking data, based on your store's capabilities.
Our Recommendation:
We recommend using Redirect-less links whenever possible. There are four main reasons for this:
1. Redirect-less links have outperformed Redirect links historically in the Digital Marketing industry.
2. Certain Third Party apps do not fully support Redirect links such as Facebook Ads and Google Ads.
3. Able to track additional Funnel Events, providing more insight and information to help you optimize your campaign!
4. When a Redirect-less funnel is successfully set up, redirect versions of the funnel are automatically available for partners to grab and use. With both links, you are able to accommodate more types of partners.
*** We recommend using a Redirect version only when, and if you are unable to place the Lead Pixel on the Landing Page.
How to set up a Redirect Link:
On the Funnel set up page, you will see a purple Toggle named "Use Redirect?" on the 1st event.
Toggle this to "Yes" to make your link a Redirect Link:
Proceed with implementing the appropriate pixels into your store.
How to set up a Redirect-less Link:
Set the toggle to "No" to convert the 1st event from Click to Lead.
The Lead pixel will show a drop down arrow on the right, displaying the pixel.
Proceed with implementing the appropriate pixels into your store.
FAQs:
Q: Should I create multiple campaigns for different products? A: Instead of creating multiple campaigns for different products, we encourage brands to create multiple unique landing pages for partners to test and direct their traffic to. The reason behind this is when partners are prospecting your campaign, they are looking to market your brand in exchange for a fixed payout. When you set up your campaign, you will have the option to add multiple funnels (aka landing pages) to your campaign. Partners will test one or multiple funnels and scale the ones that provide the most traction.
The most successful brands on the platform embody this strategy. Because partners look to market a brand as a whole, partners deter away from brands that multiple product skews at different payouts.
When partners have more options to test different landing pages, they can find the one that converts best for their strategy or channel. Brands can win here too, because one funnel may result in customers purchasing more than others.
The goal here is to identify the best converting funnel that results in the highest conversion rate for the partner, and the highest profit per customer for a brand. We recommend using one payout across all funnels. Once you determine the optimal funnel that works for both parties, adjust the payout on the whole campaign within the Partners tab, where both sides are profitable.
Q: Is it possible to convert a Redirect link into a Redirect-less link after a funnel is successfully set up? A: The short answer is no. When a Redirect link is set up, there is no Lead Pixel present on the landing page which is required for Redirect-less links to track correctly. You will need to create a new funnel and implement the Lead Pixel into your store to set up a Redirect-less version.
Q: Where can partners grab Redirect links from Redirect-less funnels?
A: On the Funnels section of your campaign, there is a drop down window near the top right with the options, Redirect-less and Redirect. Selecting Redirect will convert each link from a Redirect-less into a Redirect link and the "Copy Link" option should change into "Copy Redirect Link"
Note that Redirect-less versions of Redirect links are not available as mentioned above in "Our Recommendations" section.
