After adding the URL and clicking on Generate Pixels button, the Lead and Purchase pixels are generated in the Funnel Setup section. Both the pixels are required to be placed on funnels and tested to activate the campaign on the platform.
Generate Additional Events
- Go to step 8 of the campaign setup flow on the Squaredance platform. Click Add Event in the Funnel Setup section.
- Click the event name that is required to be generated
Get the Pixel Code
- Expand the generated pixel and click the Copy Pixel Code button to copy it to the clipboard
Configuring the Purchase Pixel
Replace [TRANS_ID_GOES_HERE]
with the Order Id or Transaction Id macro or data layer variable. This macro should generate a unique string or integer value per order created. This value is required for the purchase pixel to work correctly. Replace [ORDER_VALUE_GOES_HERE]
with the subtotal value macro. We refer to the subtotal as the amount before shipping and handling and taxes. This value can be in money format (0.00). This value should be without the currency symbol.
Pixels Placement
Pixels are used to track funnel and conversion events and support both redirect and redirect-less tracking links and can be placed in the <head> section of the following platforms or tech stacks:
- Shopify themes, apps (Recharge, Carthook), and Shopify checkout settings
- Landing page builders like Unbounce, Instapage, Zipify, Convertri
- Google Tag Manager or others
- HTML or template files
We recommend the following mapping between the SQD events and the pages or triggers on your funnel:
- Engagement - Place it on the Presell page or Pre-lander
- Lead - Place it on the Landing page
- View Content - Place it on any pages in the funnel that come after lead and before checkout
- Initiate Checkout - Place it on the first page of the checkout
- Add Payment information - Place it on the second page of checkout where the user enters payment information
- Purchase - Place it on the order confirmation page or the thank you page or the upsell page (post-purchase page). If the store uses multiple checkouts please place it on the order confirmation page of all the checkouts. Example - Recharge and Shopify checkout.
