Tracking ChangelogHow To Set Up Brand Guidelines
A set of Brand Guidelines are required from you in order to provide affiliate partners with a clear understanding of how to represent your brand in terms of visual content, written copy, and who to target.
This is to:
- Maintain brand consistency
- Establish trust with potential customers
- Establish trust between you and your partners
Tip: Brand guidelines are often organized into PDF files or Presentation Slides for the user-friendly display of imagery and text.
Items that must be outlined in the Brand Guidelines, where applicable:
- Color Palette - Primary and Secondary colors outlining where and how each of those colors can be used, if applicable. For example, do you only use a certain color combination for call-to-action buttons? Are there certain colors that cannot be paired together?
- Typography - Font styles, sizes, and usage details should be included so users have a clear understanding of how to apply the fonts to their creatives. If particular fonts are required to be used in new content, the brand must upload relevant font files to the platform for users.
- Visual Assets Logos, icons, badges, or stickers. If any of the above visual assets are required to be used in new content, the brand must upload relevant files to the platform for users. Recommended file types: PNG, SVG, PSD
- Mood Board(s) - Examples of images, videos, ads, or any media that you’d like to replicate the look & feel for. It’s also great to provide examples of what NOT to do to really drill into the idea of the ideal look.
- Voice and Tone - How the brand uses language and emotion.
- List of Do’s and Don’ts - Source of truth regarding recommended usage vs. limitations when it comes to design, copy, geos, and any other campaign elements (e.g. If certain celebrities can’t be referenced on specific platforms, then this is something that should be noted. If certain words or messaging cannot be used, then this should be noted). If this isn’t already part of your brand guidelines, you can upload this list in a separate document.
