Tracking ChangelogUnderstanding Links
Tracking URLs are unique links generated by a tracking platform per partner per offer. Partners place this link as the destination for their ads (direct linking) on their presale page or ad. The tracking link is what associates clicks and sales with a particular partner for a particular offer. Tracking links typically let the partners pass multiple tracking variables (Sub IDs) to allow for analysis and optimization.
Types of Supported Tracking Links
Redirect URLs:
This technique redirects your domain's visitors to a different URL and embeds tracking information. This allows you to forward your or Squaredance’s domain name to an offer website and pass multiple tracking variables.

Redirectless URLs:
This newer technique developed by Squaredance allows you to direct visitors to the offer website and embed tracking information without the use of a redirect. This lets you send visitors directly to the offer website and still embed your relevant tracking variables.
For ex: https://www.squaredance.com/?affid=380001&sqdid=FaLVWnLGrN9XYvXRW971LctcsPOqAXbAoWDaGviey8Z_4ePFZC9GosuHA8nbX-O3%2F{clickid}%2F{subid1}%2F{subid2}
The Redirectless URL is formatted this way because the rediretless string is embedded in a URL parameter, so symbols such as /
?
,and &
are considered invalid characters. We encoded the/
into%2F
to ensure the compatability of our redirectless URLs and tracking paramters across all online browsers.
